Dear Minisink Soccer Parents,

Our club needs to make a decision before 2012 registration opens on whether or not to institute a work bond. How it works is there will be an additional fee for every family at registration time which could make the difference between a family being able to afford to sign their children up. During the season those that help the program are refunded the full amount of the bond after the season. Those that do not help do not get the bond returned. Other youth clubs do it and we have talked about this issue every year with the hope that we would get more help and we don’t.
We have tried for years to ask for help from the parent pool of over 700 children that play in our program, but get very little help aside from the parents who sign up as coaches and team parents. I have been with this club for 15 years and it is always been the same thing. The 11 person board does most of the work with over half of the current board no longer having any children in the program.

This program continues to grow and we always find a place for the children to play when we get the call August 30th that the parent forgot to sign up their child. We need a little help from the ones that can. Whether it is on the board, coaching or helping behind the scene, we will take whatever level you can afford. Starting tomorrow and through the end of the season someone will be walking around with a signup sheet for the below list of committees. Think about what area best suits your talents and come help us help you. We will gladly accept whatever you can offer.

Some of MYS Board Members getting ready for our new season!!!

Opening Day at  Greenville  Town Park and William Lane went off without a hitch other than some minor traffic delays at Greenville due to all the activities scheduled that day.  Our new age group (U18) played to a 2-2 tie with a lot of great play. We all enjoyed watching the younger players on the field.  It was great to see all the returning players and all of our newcomers.  Kudos to all the Coaches/Assistant Coaches and Referees who  did a phenominal job.  A special thanks goes out to all the Coaches/Assistant Coaches who are responsible for two teams.  We greatly appreciate your support!!!

The team won the "Jose C Vargas Award for Sportsmanship" for the 2010-2011 season from the East Hudson Youth Soccer League. This award justifies their hard work. Coach Ziobro said "the most important thing about being involved with our team is not wins and losses but, building our players' character while having fun playing soccer".
